Hawkins County, TN - The Hawkins County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) and Hawkins County 911 are pleased to announce the launch of a new mass notification program, Hawkins Alert, that will enable the citizens of Hawkins County to opt in for emergency messages from Hawkins County 911.
Hawkins Alert is a state-of-the-art system that allows Hawkins County 911 to send timely and accurate alerts to residents about emergencies, severe weather, road closures, public safety issues, and more. Residents can choose how they want to receive the alerts, such as text messages, mobile and landline voice notifications, or email. They can also select the types of alerts they want to receive, such as emergency weather alerts from the National Weather Service and geolocation alerts with the Smart911 application.
The Hawkins Alert System is also integrated with the FEMA Integrated Public Alert & Warning System (IPAWS), enhancing our ability to provide critical information to the community during emergencies.
Smart911 is a free service that allows residents to create a personalized safety profile that includes important information such as medical conditions, allergies, pets, vehicles, and emergency contacts. This information can help first responders provide faster and more effective assistance in an emergency. Residents who download and opt in with the Smart911 application will also receive emergency notifications in any jurisdiction that participates in the Hawkins Alert/Smart911 solutions.
